Last month, while searching for something else in the back of my garage, I came across this glass vase. I didn't recall having it, but I thought it would be fun to decorate. I also have some seashells in my crafting room that I've been wanting to use up. So, I thought 'why not?'

Plain. Simple. Perfect for a makeover.

Gettin' my gesso on.

Painted a 'seashell complementary' color.

Seashells in their original state that I chose to use.

A piece of abalone and some jingle clam shells to add some shine.

I painted the shells a very light peach color.

Then I painted on 2 different shades of blue and did a little ombre blending just because it's fun to do.

I added some party sparkle because I just can't leave well enough alone!

I also added some real pearls and some silver beads.

Here's a close-up, and as you can see, I also added some turquoise beads that I cut off of a Mardi Gras necklace.

Here I added some trim on top that I had left over from a project. It fit in perfectly. I love those times when I luck out!

I found these opalescent, snail-like shells in my collection that I added on top of the ribbon. They provided even more shine. Pretty pretty, no?

With a pair of tweezers, I carefully glued in extra tiny seashells to cover up the ribbon fully. You definitely have to love detail work. Luckily, I do!

And now to unveil that vase that launched a thousand ships...

Can you picture a beautiful bouquet of flowers in this embellished vase? On the other hand, flowers might be a little too over the top in this situation... 😍

I’ll be back next Wednesday to show you what I’ve been working on. Hope you’ll stop by again for a visit.

This Week’s Tea Spilling

Last week, I mentioned upcoming changes, and this week, I want to update you. I have until the end of this month to decide whether to continue running this website. Currently, I'm undecided. Despite appearances, publishing a weekly blog is time-consuming, especially for one person. I'm enjoying my interactions on Facebook/Meta and Instagram and am considering focusing my efforts there. If you've enjoyed my weekly blogs, I recommend catching up on any you missed this month, as many will need to be removed due to storage limitations. I'll keep you informed.
