Hey Good Looking Kitchen Tools

Writer: anupcycledartistanupcycledartist

From time to time, I sift through my kitchen drawers and baskets to identify items I can let go of to streamline my collection. I've been doing this for years, yet I always uncover something new. Recently, I found a few items I thought would be fun to embellish. I'll be taking all of them to the store to sell, keeping one for us. They were all duplicates, except for the pastry blender, which is the kitchen tool we'll be keeping. See how it all unfolded below.

Here's the story about a rolling pin:

We have a newer aluminum one with all the fun attachments, so this one is no longer necessary.

I painted gesso on the handles prior to painting them and then deciding on which paper to use to decoupage the roller. Hmmmmmmmm...

With spring upon us and a vote from a friend, I chose the cupcakes.

Looky, looky! It's pretty enough for Wilma to use over Fred's head... 😉

Here's the story about a peppermill:

This was a brown wooden mill that I forgot to take a 'Before' photo of - oops!

The base is painted and it reminds me of a 10' tall totem pole!

Added a few stripes, circles, dots, & a shiny topcoat. I am going to call her Pepper Miller - the 'purdiest' girl in the kitchen...

Here's the story about a pizza cutter:

This plain pizza cutter needs some flash and fast.

Here's the story about a pastry blender:

To be honest, I remember seeing one of these in my great-grandmother's kitchen drawer, however, I never used one and did not even know the name of it.

This was Stephen's grandmother's that was passed down. Upon a little research, it just turned 100 years old! This is the tool that will remain with us. 😍

And yeah, I had to embellish it. 100 years old and doesn't look a day over, well, a lot younger. LOL!

One big happy family. Do you think that this would encourage one to start baking and cooking? I know that I will be getting ready to use the pastry blender to bake another fruit crisp this weekend. 😉

I’ll be back next Wednesday to show you what I’ve been working on. Hope you’ll stop by again for a visit.
